I agree with your assessment of time. I look at my students, know what it feels like to be where they are, and tell them so--but that was over 50 years ago. My memories are still vivid however, and when I think about something that I believe happened 10 years ago, it had actually happened 18 years ago (or even longer ago). So clearly, I remember playing a "leading pass" Nerf game that my then 7-year-old son and I made up, but he's now 47. Manytimes, what happened decades ago is as visceral as what happened last week. How is that possible? Does such a perspective reflect and/or impact who we are?
